About the Role
The role is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organisation’s Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 standards and UKCA accreditation requirements, ensuring robust quality assurance throughout the full manufacturing process. This includes conducting first article inspections across welding, CNC machining, fabrication, and assembly, as well as the inspection of supplied finished parts such as powder coating, galvanising, glass, graphics and stone components. The role proactively identifies and addresses quality issues at the root cause, working collaboratively with design and production teams, raising Engineering Change Requests where improvements/corrections are required. The role supports the HSQE department as required to uphold the company’s commitment to quality.
Responsibilities & Duties
Your main responsibilities and duties will include:
• Assist to Maintain Quality management system (ISO 9001) and UKCA accreditation
• Quality inspection of finished parts from suppliers (Powder coated components, Galvanised components, Glass, screen printing, fabrications, stone etc)
• Conduct first article quality inspections (FAI) in manufacture, production & assembly of finished components & products.
• Carry out regular and frequent quality inspections within the manufacturing and fabrication of finished goods (CNC machine Shop, Press Brake folding, Welding, Linishing, graphics)
• Take proactive approach to identify root causes and resolve quality issues collectively with various departments.
• Raise relevant Inspection Test plans for UKCA production items and update tracker.
• Ensure assembly drawings and checklists are being used in production build.
• Log/raise any Engineering Change Requests on MRP system.
• Monitor live jobs folders and ensure Quality Assurance information (photos, sign off sheets, lessons learnt documents) are stored correctly and available for traceability.
• Ensure Manufacturing measurement tools are calibrated
• Raise non-conformity reports to monitor the cost of quality and improve KPIs.
• Raise ideas for continuous improvement.
• Ensure lessons learnt documents are uploaded and distributed to relevant departments.
• ECRs are raised in accordance when identified during manufacturing/assembly.
• Maintain 5s within manufacturing facility.
• Final sign off finished products
• Assist with further departmental duties within the HSQE department as and when required.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is familiar with quality systems and manufacturing processes. You will be comfortable carrying out inspections, recording findings, and working with others to resolve issues and improve procedures. Strong organisational skills, good communication, and commitment to accuracy and compliance are important. A proactive mindset, willingness to learn, and the ability to work across multiple departments are key’s to success in this role.
Preferred Experience
• Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and compliance processes.
• Previous involvement in product or component inspection, measurement, or testing
• Understanding of fabrication, CNC machining, or assembly processes of sheet metal.
• Experience using MRP/ERP systems for documentation, change control and reporting
• Exposure to continuous improvement activities or problem-solving methods
• Basic knowledge of calibration or use of measurement tools (e.g., verniers, micrometers)
Preferred Skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to follow processes and document findings clearly
• Confident in using measurement tools and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
• Competent in Microsoft Office and basic digital documentation systems
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build positive working relationships
