Bespoke SuperHub Shelter for Manor Royal BID

As part of a major regeneration programme within the Manor Royal Business Improvement District (BID), Trueform Group was commissioned to design, manufacture, and install a highly bespoke ‘SuperHub’ bus shelter. The project set out to deliver a striking, sustainable, and user-focused piece of infrastructure that would redefine the bus passenger experience in the area.

Collaboration and Design Process

Working in close collaboration with Manor Royal BID, landscape architects, and consulting engineers, Trueform’s specialist design team JEDCo Product Designers transformed the architect’s concept into a fully engineered reality. Every stage of the detailed design process considered key factors such as:

• Material selection and environmental impact
• Structural performance and durability
• Health, safety, and accessibility
• Long-term maintenance requirements
• Passenger comfort and experience

Sustainable and User-Centric Features

The final shelter design incorporated a wide range of sustainable and innovative features, including:

• Timber seating to provide comfort and warmth
• Sedum green roofs to promote biodiversity and absorb rainwater
• Low-energy lighting to reduce environmental impact
• Recycled steel and glass for a lower carbon footprint
• Display cases, custom graphics, and a separate RTPI post designed to complement the shelter aesthetic

Manufacture and Installation

Once approved by the client, the shelter was manufactured at Trueform’s West London facility. To ensure precision and quality, a full trial assembly was carried out prior to installation. The shelter was then installed by Trueform’s in-house team, working in coordination with the appointed groundworks contractor and in full compliance with health and safety regulations.

Outcome

The completed ‘SuperHub’ is a unique statement piece. That, not only meets the practical needs of bus passengers. But also enhances the wider environment and character of Manor Royal. It has set a new benchmark for sustainable, high-quality transport infrastructure.
